MEMBERSHIP

Membership allows the SUA to support umpires in the region. For more than 60 years, the Southern Umpires Association (SUA) has proudly represented and supported umpires across the AFL South East region. With a strong and connected member and sponsor base, SUA continues to grow as an independent voice for all umpires — on and off the field.

By becoming a member, you help strengthen that voice and ensure the ongoing success of our umpiring community. Your membership enables SUA to:

  • Develop and support umpires through education, training, and wellbeing programs focused on life skills, mindfulness, mental health, and resilience.
  • Maintain and improve our facilities, providing a shared space for all members and ensuring accessibility for training, meetings, and social events.
  • Recognize excellence, celebrating achievements through awards nights, social media, and other forms of acknowledgment.
  • Advocate for fair representation, working alongside AFL South East on key matters such as coaching, pay rates, finals appointments, and broader umpiring issues.
  • Strengthen community connections, maintaining strong relationships with clubs, leagues, and local partners to support umpires in every aspect of their role.

Joining SUA means being part of a proud tradition — and helping shape the future of umpiring in our region, guided by the values of Respect, Integrity, Fairness, and Trust.
