MY CHILD MISSES THE AGE CUT-OFF BY ONE DAY. CAN THEY STILL PLAY?

CAN MY CHILD PLAY DOWN AN AGE GROUP?

CAN MY CHILD PLAY UP AN AGE GROUP?
In general, players are not permitted to play up an age group unless there is a specific team need, such as a player shortage.
In exceptional circumstances, parents may apply in writing for consideration. The club will assess each request and make a decision based on player welfare, team balance and competition requirements.
Any approval is usually for one season only.
WHAT DAY AND TIME WILL TRAINING BE?
Training is generally held after school on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Exact training days and times may vary depending on the team, age group and ground availability.

Players cannot bump, push, knock or steal the ball from an opponent’s hands, or smother an opponent’s kick in younger modified rules age groups.
ARE THERE MODIFIED RULES FOR YOUNGER AGE GROUPS?
Yes. Modified rules apply to younger age groups, including U9 mixed and U10 girls competitions and below.
These may include no scores, no ladders, no finals, shorter quarters, fewer players per side, smaller grounds and player zones.
Stealing, smothering, shepherding and barging are not permitted in these age groups.

Grading generally begins from Under 13.
Players may be invited to attend grading sessions or try-outs, with teams selected by the club’s football department in consultation with age group coordinators and coaches.
